Scrap Car Collection: What to Expect on the Day
If you've never scrapped a car before, you might be wondering what actually happens on collection day. Here's a step-by-step walkthrough so you know exactly what to expect.
Before collection day: Once you've accepted your quote, we'll arrange a collection time that works for you. We offer same-day collection in most cases across Merseyside. We'll confirm the exact amount you'll be paid — this won't change.
What to have ready: Your V5C logbook (if you have it), your photo ID, and the car keys. Remove all personal belongings from the car — check the boot, glove box, sun visors, and under seats.
When we arrive: Our driver will verify the vehicle matches the details you provided. They'll check the registration, make, model, and general condition. As long as everything matches, the quote stands.
Payment: You'll be paid on the spot. We offer bank transfer or cash — your choice. The amount is exactly what was quoted. No last-minute deductions, no haggling, no nonsense.
Paperwork: We'll complete the transfer paperwork with you. You'll need to fill in the yellow V5C/3 section of your logbook and post it to the DVLA. We'll notify the DVLA electronically from our end and issue your Certificate of Destruction.
After collection: Your car goes to our licensed ATF for depollution and recycling. You'll receive DVLA confirmation within a few weeks that you're no longer the registered keeper. And that's it — simple, quick, and stress-free.
